2025 chevy trax activ slowng down on its own

hi so my 2025 chevy trax activ is still new, still only has like 180 miles on it. but i noticed that when i'm driving at a steady speed, the car slows down on its own i'm not even dong anything to it, there feels like a rubber band effect or as if your feet pressing the brake lightly. i already check the safety fatures, the cruise control, and the hvac and appatrently the problem is not there. ther are also no warning lights on the dashboard. were you be able to explainthe problem to me if you already experienced it also?

hm, thats very frustrating especially for a new car. i would suggest to think about the transmission adjustment or something could be wrong with the electronic throttle response. ive already heard about this rubber band effect from other owners and they said its because of the CVT or the auto start-stop system. however it'll be safer to visit the car dealer just to rule out any other serious problems.

if you use cruise control, deactivate it. it usually slowing the car with brake

I've never personally had that happen, but it could be related to the transmission or throttle body. Sometimes with newer cars, the system may be adjusting to the driving conditions, but that shouldn't cause noticeable deceleration. Have you tried resetting the car's computer by disconnecting the battery for a bit?

That rubber band effect could be linked to the ECM or TCM needing a software update, which is pretty common in newer models. Has the dealership checked for pending updates or scanned for hidden fault codes?

No warning lights and these issues? Maybe get your OBD scanner and do a quick scan so you'll know what's behind all that.

Agree with this one OP @cheveroniii. But to what extent does the car slow down on its own? Sorry for the research-like phrasing but I'm pretty sure there's a safety thing going on in here. It might be a Trax quirk we aren't aware of.

this is actually true, OP should try to deactivate the cruise control
