My Chevy Trax began to blow warm air through the AC and considering the temps, I'm not too fond of driving it. What could cause this and is there something I can check myself before I take it to a shop?

Warm air from your Chevy Trax's AC could be due to low refrigerant, a clogged cabin air filter or a faulty compressor . You can start by checking and replacing the cabin air filter if its dirty, and listen for the compressor kicking in when you turn on the AC. If the air stays warm, it's probably time for a shop to check the refrigerant levels and system for leaks

First thing I'd check is whether the compressor is kicking on when you turn the AC to max coz if it's not, it could be low refrigerant, a bad relay, or the compressor itself. Low refrigerant is the most common though and you can get a gauge kit at the parts store to check pressure.
